New VIVALUX energy labels
As of September 1st, 2021 in accordance with the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2015 there will be in force new energy labelling for lighting products. There are few changes which aim is to facilitate the end users in their selection of the appropriate for them lighting product.
The new labels are only for lighting sources, which includes all kinds directional and non-directional bulbs, LED modules, as well as those lighting products, that cannot be dismantled for check without being destroyed their integrity (such as illuminated shelves, mirrors, showcases etc.). For the rest illuminating products an energy label is not required.
The Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2015 establishes requirements for the on-line shops and the way of exhibiting of the energy efficiency class and the visualization of the label with the converted range. There is a transition period of 14 business days, meaning the deadline is September 23rd, 2021, for all products, sold via internet platforms to be displayed the new label.
For the off line stores, suppliers have 18 months deadline for changing the labels. This means, by February 28th, 2023 off line stores are allowed to sell products with the old labels, but after that date products should be pulled out of the stores or the old label to be covered with a new one.
